The Beginning
Marsha started as a Hearing Officer hearing cases in Nassau County, Suffolk County and the City of New York and she saw first hand the inequities in the system and how difficult it was for homeowners to navigate through this process. Marsha wanted to be an advocate for homeowners and help them save money on their property tax bills. Elyse was involved in multiple areas of law including real estate transactions. When preparing property closings, Elyse saw how burdensome the property taxes were for homeowners and wanted to find an avenue to help them lower their property taxes.
Marsha and Elyse met and discussed the idea of forming a corporation focused solely on helping homeowners lower their property taxes.
Property Tax Adjusters, Ltd. was incorporated on March 25, 1991.
